| DESCRIPTION |
Colubris MultiService Controllers (MSCs) control the operation of intelligent access points distributed throughout a wireless zone, building or campus. MSCs deliver a range of services to wireless client devices and ensure consistent quality and security. The 3000 Series Controller integrates a full-featured multiservice access point and service controller in a single turnkey unit ideally suited for small and medium-sized deployments. It provides the same award-winning Public/Guest Internet Access Service offered in the 5000 Series Controllers, enabling a single architecture to be deployed across public and private venues of any size. Customers can easily expand RF coverage in larger venues by daisy-chaining MultiService Access Points (MAP) using the convenient downstream Ethernet port. The Colubris Operating System (COS) embedded in the 3000 Series MSC creates Virtual Service Communities (VSCs)—discrete groups of network users with assigned service policies. COS provides VSC users with access to one or more applications that share a common set of QoS and security policies. MSCs feature full IP routing and network services that enable them to connect directly to a cable or DSL modem and provide a turnkey remote site networking solution. They can be centrally managed by Colubris' Network Management System (NMS), which provides a single, centralized system for managing your entire WLAN as an integrated whole, whether it consists of a single controller and a handful of access points, or literally thousands of controllers and tens of thousands of access points. |
